It's said quite often by a pupil that they are told by family and friends that 'You'll learn more after you've passed your Driving Test". While I do understand the sentiment behind the statement I would also argue that isn't quite accurate in the grander scheme of things.
It's not that you learn more, you actually don't, you unlearn what you've been taught in a lot of cases, but what does happen is you become more comfortable and more confident with what you are doing. And, why wouldn't you? While learning to drive most will only get a lesson a week while training, more if you are lucky and you have the flexibility to pick up extra lessons when they are available. After you pass your driving test, and if you are lucky and have access to a car on a regular basis, the single lesson turns into multiple times behind the wheel and countless, valuable extra minutes and hours behind the wheel you have never had before.
So, as I said, it's not that you get better, you just become more comfortable and confident with the job of driving.
