How can a Driving Instructors patience pay off for me?

Finding a patient driving instructor
A patient Driving Instructor can make all the difference to how well you learn.

It can often be overlooked, the value of a patient driving instructor. A high level of patience will help you more than you know. It will help by de-stressing an already stressful environment and situation where you may already be anxious or unnerved by doing something so alien to you that you fell like a total imposter and shouldn't be doing what you are trying to do in learning how to drive. A really good Driving Instructor knows this and also knows that it's their job to educate you in knowing how to deal with those situations and those stresses. They also know that shouting, ranting and raving isn't going to get results and that any frustrations they might have will be down to the fact that it's their teaching that hasn't helping you learn a given subject. Our jobs mean that we have to adapt to you and help you and us to figure out the best way of working to solve the key problems you might experience.

Will you feel nervous?

Of course you will. It's only natural but pushing you just the right amount during each lesson is the key to you building confidence in yourself and what you are doing. Good, common sense explanations also help a lot.

Will you be pushed?

Yes and no. Using our judgement to get a feel about what you feel comfortable doing and what your limitations are is what a good and patient driving instructor will be able to identify and use to get you moving forwards incrementally and in a way that best suits your learning style.
