What about the Driving Test Fail Quota? It's not real. It's a hoax.

The Driving Test Fail Quota

Another one of those rumours that learner drivers will comment on and ask nearly every Driving Instructor about is the dreaded "Fail Quota". It's a rumour that makes nearly every single Driving Instructor laugh out loud as it's so ridiculous that it boarders on the insane.

Weirdly, through Chinese whispers, friend group stories or something else, at some point or another the question gets raised about how the Examiners have to fail a certain number of pupils every week/month.

This simply is an urban myth. It doesn't exist in any way, shape or form. If any driver fails their driving test it's simply down to the fact that they didn't display safe enough driving to pass on the day. The Examiners and the DVA want EVERYONE to pass their test. It's down to you to prove that you are in full control of everything you have been taught by your instructor, can concentrate on the job of driving when behind the wheel and can use enough good judgement to ensure your safety and that of the examiner and other road users.

The end result simply falls on the drivers shoulders as you were the person driving the car. It's not every case but sometimes people just look for an excuse to explain the fact that they didn't pass at the time. There is definitely no number pre designated to fail every week or month. The idea is just ridiculous.
